  •  Mapping of the pollard forest surface area in Gipuzkoa, using LIDAR technology. 
  •  Characterisation of pollard trees and monitoring of the trees worked on during the project
  • Determination of the potential habitat for saproxylic beetles, in Gipuzkoa. Study on the distribution of saproxylic species of Community interest (Osmoderma eremita, Rosalia alpina, Lucanus cervus and Cerambyx cerdo) within the area of research. 
  • Study and monitoring of Rosalia alpina and Osmoderma eremita populations in the SCIs in which this species is known to exist. Forestry work to increase the habitat availability for saproxylic beetles of Community interest. 
  • Maintenance of ancient pollard forest and creation of new pollards, through directed pruning. Purchase of 300 hectares of forest habitat for their long-term conservation. Creation of pollard forest Reserve Areas. 
  • Cataloguing of saproxylic beetles in the Basque Country. Drawing up guidelines for species management. 
  • Communication and awareness-raising activities focused on private forest owners and the general public. 
  • Information workshops for new pollarders. 
  • Generation of informative and didactic material. 
  • Conditioning of two eco-educational routes. 
  • Gathering information on traditional and present-day pollarding techniques and publication of a Guide to Good Practice. 
  • Creation of a European working party on pollards and their associated biodiversity.
