The project forms part of the LIFE+ Programme, the only EU financial instrument exclusively dedicated to the environment and nature conservation, and its aim is to favour the preservation of saproxylic insects through the continuation of tree pollarding in the Region.

Project completion

On 30 June 2014 this LIFE project was completed. It made it possible to highlight the ecological role of pollarded trees in Gipuzkoa in the conservation of saproxylic insect populations of Community interest, such as Rosalia alpina, Osmoderma eremita, Lucanus cervus and Cerambyx cerdo. Read more.
